The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has selected Telangana’s Pochampally village as one of the Best Tourism Villages in the world.


The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has selected Telangana’s Pochampally village as one of the Best Tourism Villages in the world. The village is renowned for its handloom waved Ikat sarees. The village of Pochampally is situated just 50 km away from the city of Hyderabad. The news has come to light after an official release from the office of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of North Eastern Region of India. Pochampally will receive the award on the 24th session of the UNWTO General Assembly that will be held on December 2 of this year in Madrid.
