India registered 13,313 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, 8.7 per cent higher than yesterday. The total Covid caseload has now reached 4,33,44,958, according to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala (4,224), followed by Maharashtra (3,260), Delhi (928), Tamil Nadu (771) and Uttar Pradesh (678).
Around 74.07 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 31.73 per cent of the new cases.
The country also reported 38 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 5,24,941. India's recovery rate now stands at 98.6 per cent.
A total of 10,972 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 4,27,36,027 across the country.
The number of active cases also increased by 2,303, taking the total active caseload to 83,990 across the country.
