In a spectacular event more than 700 children took part in a First Holy Communion sacrament in the Emperor Emmanuel Church of Light in Kerala, India.
It has gained worldwide attention as an historic event. For the first time ever such unprecedented numbers of children gathered for a First Communion sacrament, a rite through which one attains spiritual union with the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
Fr. Benoy Mandapathil presided over the ceremony and was himself surprised at the turnout. "All the children presented Rose flowers to God the Father and exchanged Holy kisses after the ceremony", said Fr. Benoy.
The 'children in white' standing in the Church courtyard was quite radiant a sight to behold.
Emperor Emmanuel Church of Light is a church that prepares people as per the Word of God in the Bible for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ .
